6-Week Leadership Fitness™ Sprint

One real leadership challenge. Six weeks to recognise, redesign and rewire it.

Solve one real leadership challenge using the Critical Alignment Model (CAM) and the Orgfit International Patterns System (6R's). A practical six-week sprint that helps leaders uncover the patterns influencing a real business challenge, redesign the conditions around it and install a more effective leadership response.

The problem is rarely just the problem

You may be trying to solve a business problem with the same leadership pattern that helped create - or maintain - it.

The pattern is not wrong. It probably helped make you successful. But under pressure, the brain returns to what is familiar. When the environment changes and the response does not, effort increases while progress slows.

This is not leadership theory. Each participant works on one current leadership or organisational challenge throughout the sprint.

“The patterns that made you successful may not be the patterns that keep you successful.”
The two lenses

Every week is worked through the Critical Alignment Model (CAM) and the Orgfit International Patterns System (6R's).

The Critical Alignment Model (CAM) shows you the conditions your pattern is living in. The Orgfit International Patterns System (6R's) shows you how the pattern was learned, why it holds and what it takes to change it. Together they turn a stuck business challenge into something you can actually redesign.

Critical Alignment Model (CAM)

Where the pattern is enabled

  • Environment Purpose, beliefs, standards and expectations — the conditions a pattern grows in.
  • Structure Guardrails, workflows and accountability — what the organisation makes easy or hard.
  • Implementation Actions, rhythms and the key moments where leadership is actually experienced.
  • People The signals that create trust, clarity and ownership — or quietly remove them.

Orgfit International Patterns System (6R's)

Why it repeats, and how it rewires

  • Results What outcomes is the current pattern producing?
  • Reinforcement What has rewarded, protected or validated the behaviour?
  • Routine How did repetition turn the response into the preferred way of leading?
  • Reliance Where has the routine hardened into the response you default to?
  • Resistance What makes the existing response feel safer or easier than the alternative?
  • Rewiring What new evidence and repetition will install the new response?

The Critical Alignment Model was developed by Remi Pearson, the Founder of The Coaching Institute.

Bring one real challenge

What could you shift in six focused weeks?

This is not a hypothetical case study, or another leadership model. Your Sprint is built around your live business issue where a better leadership response will create meaningful movement on your business problem.

Here are some examples we have helped customers overcome

  • A decision that keeps stalling
  • A team that relies on you too much
  • A difficult conversation being delayed
  • Growth that has lost momentum
  • Constant firefighting
  • A change that is not landing
Recognise → Redesign → Rewire

Six weeks. One focused shift.

Leadership Fitness is not about changing your intention or replacing who you are. It is about expanding your patterns and increasing your ability to choose the response that fits the moment. Every week ends with something you can use.

Week 01

Recognise the Challenge

Define the real challenge and establish the desired outcome.

  • Identify the visible problem and its business impact.
  • Separate symptoms from the underlying challenge.
  • Recognise the leadership behaviours appearing under pressure.
  • Establish baseline measures.
  • Select the leadership pattern to explore.

Results — what outcomes is the current pattern producing?

OutputLeadership Sprint Challenge Statement and baseline scorecard.

Week 02

Reveal the Pattern

Unmask the automatic leadership pattern operating beneath the challenge.

  • Identify triggers, signals and repeated responses.
  • Explore what the pattern was originally trying to achieve or protect.
  • Recognise where the pattern has previously created success.
  • Identify the current costs and unintended consequences.
  • Map the pattern across the Critical Alignment Model (CAM) system.

Reinforcement — what has rewarded, protected or validated the behaviour?

OutputLeadership Pattern Map.

Week 03

Understand the Loop

Understand how the behaviour became routine and why it continues.

  • Map the trigger–response–outcome loop.
  • Identify organisational routines that support the pattern.
  • Explore emotional, social and performance rewards.
  • Identify assumptions, expectations and decision rules.
  • Recognise the leadership “hangover” — a successful response that no longer fits every situation.

Critical Alignment Model (CAM) focus

Which structures, operating rhythms and people signals keep the loop alive?

Routine and Reliance — how did repetition turn the response into the preferred way of leading?

OutputCurrent-State Critical Alignment Model (CAM) and Orgfit International Patterns System (6R's) Loop.

Week 04

Redesign the Response

Create and test a more effective leadership pattern.

  • Generate alternative responses.
  • Decide what should be retained, adapted or replaced.
  • Redesign the supporting Critical Alignment Model (CAM) conditions.
  • Clarify decision rights, guardrails and expectations.
  • Choose one small experiment with a measurable outcome.

Critical Alignment Model (CAM) focus

Redesign every Critical Alignment Model (CAM) domain around the response you want instead.

  • Environment: What purpose, beliefs, standards or expectations must change?
  • Structure: What guardrails, workflows or accountability are needed?
  • Implementation: What actions, rhythms and key moments will support the change?
  • People: What signals will create trust, clarity and ownership?

Resistance — what makes the existing response feel safer or easier than the alternative?

OutputNew Pattern Experiment.

Week 05

Rehearse and Reinforce

Practise the new response in real leadership situations.

  • Apply the new pattern during a meaningful moment.
  • Use pause, breathe, simplify and act.
  • Capture evidence of what changed.
  • Review resistance, setbacks and prediction errors.
  • Adjust the Critical Alignment Model (CAM) conditions based on feedback.
  • Reinforce progress rather than waiting for perfection.

Rewiring — introduce new evidence and repeat the new response.

OutputEvidence and Learning Log.

Week 06

Embed and Scale

Turn the experiment into a sustainable leadership practice.

  • Compare results with the Week 1 baseline.
  • Identify which parts of the new pattern worked.
  • Strengthen the supporting organisational conditions.
  • Create a 30–60–90-day continuation plan.
  • Decide where the pattern can be scaled across the team.
  • Establish measures, accountability and reinforcement.

One of the biggest challenges leaders face today is navigating continual change, uncertainty, and complexity. The Leadership Fitness Discovery helped me recognize both the strengths I naturally bring to those situations and the often-unconscious patterns I fall back on when pressure rises. By making those patterns visible, I believe the Discovery gives us greater ability to respond intentionally, leaning on our strengths without allowing our blind spots to trip us up or limit us. I can see tremendous value in using it with a team, helping each person become more effective while building the collective range needed to navigate whatever comes next.

I highly recommend OrgFit's Leadership Fitness test. It enabled me to zero in on the strengths and gaps of my own leadership style. As a result, I can be much more efficient when choosing the professional development resources that will be best for me.

I'm happy to recommend Greg as a colleague. He's super enthusiastic about work and life, includes everyone in discussions, creating an environment of psychological safety and even fun. Greg's superpower is communicating complicated concepts in clear and simple ways so everyone understands them. He coaches others to success and always shows up with high energy. His focus is helping people perform at their best and he's very good at this. Highly recommended!

I took your quiz, and read the report. It is highly accurate and very helpful. While I am careful not to lead a team on a corporate performance level, as a trainer, I am at peace that I have more of a challenger style, with a high dose of agitation to balance all the encouragement and compassion my role involves. This is true to me and suits my character and offerings well. Thanks kindly for developing this insightful tool and giving me the opportunity to have an objective third party unpack and clarify my leadership style.

I took your Leadership assessment - very interesting and insightful. I'm not totally convinced how accurate (pro or con) the results were because many of the questions were difficult to relate to or I've never experienced. I completely agree however, times have changed and things are evolving faster than ever! We must change former patterns to adjust lest we be 'left in the dust!' Capacity and flexibility through neuroplasticity is key for longevity and sustainability. Thank you for the opportunity to take the assessment; it has given me much to think about!

I found the Leadership Fitness Discovery strikingly relevant to my own patterns. The strong emphasis on Understanding immediately resonated with how I tend to approach complexity - by making sense of it first. What interests me particularly is what comes next: once a pattern has been recognised, interoception can help us notice how it begins to appear in the body before it becomes an automatic behaviour. In my TriUnity practice, we work with this through 'Contact before Concept' and the Feel-Think-Move framework - bringing attention back to immediate embodied experience before interpretation and action. I can see a very natural connection between Leadership Fitness and this deeper interoceptive work, moving from pattern discovery toward greater choice and adaptive flexibility.
